The Wild Wild West

Evening everyone!!

I had a fun day with my friend Tiff scrapping and card making. Tiffany worked on her jewelry. I think next time we get together we'll have to do some other fun crafts that are out of our "normal" territory.

So tonight I got a total of 2 layouts and two cards done. But you only get to see one of them tonight. The rest you'll have to join us on Let's Scrap in May to see. Muahahahahaha!!!!!

Anyways, I took this idea from Amarilys at Amarilys's Scrappy Corner. She gave us a step-by-step tutorial on how to use up your scraps to make a very fun and cute layout. You can check out her tutorial here

Here is my version of it.

I only used one photo and made a few longer strips so that all the white above and below the photo was covered. I found some really fun crinkly tan paper at Hobby Lobby and outlined it. The title is in the top corner of this and it's hard to read b/c the crinkle paper is pretty shiny but it's titled "The Wild Wild West". This was taken at a booth at our state fair and I really love these flowers b/c I had a feather in my hair for the photo and the flowers also have feathers hanging out of them. The ruffled border reminds me of the ruffled dresses back then and I was just completely satisfied with how this layout turned out. I was skeptical of my color choices but once I put them together I was pleasantly surprised!

I was very happy to use up all these scraps. I still have many more to use up but i think I got a good jump start today as for all four of my projects today I used scraps except for the main 12x12 paper. W00t, w00t to me!! I really wish I could remember what year this photo was taken...I'll figure it out at some point!

Today a new Let's Scrap sketch was posted and the B team has done a fantastic job!! Go check them out here. I need to go and see what photos I can try to do with this week's sketch now.

Have a great night everyone and thanks for looking!!
