Favorite Valentine's Day Memory + Let's Scrap Blog Hop Winner

Hey Everyone!!

The blog hop has ended. :( It was a great success and there were so many wonderful creations! Thanks for playing along and thanks to Mindi for organizing this fantastic hop!!

I was a winner of all of you fabulous ladies following me now! I went from 15 followers to 99 followers! I think a giveaway is in store on this blog soon so keep checking back for more details really soon!

I really enjoyed reading all your favorite Valentine/love memories and now I think I will share one of mine. My husband(then fiance) on Valentine's Day 2008 surprised me after I had just come back from class. We were both still in college and I had just come back to the apartment and when I opened the door and looked in the living room I saw this:

So I followed the rose petals to the bedroom and  then I found this on my bed:

A giant teddy bear, a Beauty and the Beast snowglobe, and a bottle of bubble bath. He wrote i love you in rose petals and then had a bunch of Valentine's cards with a letter on each of them that said "Be My Valentine".

This year I got a surprise on the counter: a bunch of flowers in a mason jar with a coupon he made:

This is only the 2nd batch of flowers that I've received from him in our 7 years together. I was really excited about them. I can't really complain though because of all the other unique things he does...such as naming a star on our 2 year anniversary(dating). I also loved the fact that when he woke up and asked if I liked the flowers, he also asked if he made the right choice in not getting roses. Roses are nice but I really love different less traditional flowers and color! He knows me so well. :)

Let's Scrap Leap Around the World Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be a part of this incredible blog hop! This is my first time as a blog hostess and when I have participated in blog hops before, never have I see a blog hop so huge!! We have 50 hostesses on this hop!!

 For those of you who are not members of Let's Scrap or just learning about them, they are an online community of scrappers and card creators motivating each other to do what they love(which is scrapping) by posting sketches and sample layouts. This is the most supportive community of scrappers I have been a part of and they are such a friendly community and so interactive! The sketches are fantastic and unlike any other sketches you've seen before!

And now without further ado, here is my sketch that I am showcasing for this sweet hop:

Since it is February, I had to make a Valentine's Day card. The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye "Love Nest" glitter paper stack and then pink, blue, and red cardstock for the sentiment. I made the heart-shaped cut out with my Cricut using George and Basic Shapes cartridge. The sentiment is made using the Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge. Plus, I added a lil' bit of sparkly pink ribbon along the right side of the card. 

Now for the fun part! Here is the blog candy I'm giving away(my first giveaway...so exciting)!!

Bo Bunny's "Forever Your's" cardstock stickers, Flora Doodles various pink and brown petaloo flowers, various pink fibers(the ribbon I used on in my card is from this fiber pack but don't worry, I used my own pack. :) ), and My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found Madison Avenue 6x6 paper stack.

First Cards for Blog Hop and Liebster Awards

Hi friends,

I hope everyone is having fun on the Let's Srap blog hop. I know I sure am enjoying reading all of your lovely comments and seeing all of your creations! Now since I have all day off today, I finally get some time to join in on the fun of creating some cards for the hop!!

Here's my first three(hopefully more to come later tonight or tomorrow):

This one was made using Let's Scrap's 12-15-10 card sketch and is on blog stop #6 , Debby  De Wilde

This card was crafted using Let's Scrap's 3-17-10 sketch on  Debbie Butcher's (blog stop #15) blog.

And the 3rd card so far today I used Let's Scrap's 5-18-11 sketch on  Carolina Garrido's(blog stop #30) blog.

I'm also thrilled to say that I was awarded the Liebster Award by Katy over I Like to Cut and Paste!

Hey everyone!

Quick post today...sorry I've been MIA, but we are packing and getting ready to move soon. Chaos has taken over here at our apartment. We are moving into my parent's place for a short time...we are so close to being able to get approved for a loan to get our first house!! So, why trap yourself in another lease where rent is being raised again that is going to be way more than a house(of the size we want) when you're so close? Anyone else been here before? I'm sure you'll understand then. :)
But, I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow begins Let's Scrap Leap Around the World Blog Hop!!!! I'm so excited!!
