My Paper Crafting Challenge #128--Rain

Hi everyone! It's hump day once again and it's time for a new Crafting with Cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting!

This week's challenge is:

Here is what I came up with:

This is another A2 card on a very light tan cardstock. Many cartridges were used to make this card. I used Fancy Frames to make the dark green frame, Create a Critter to make the umbrella and raindrops, Create a Critter 2 to make the cloud(just modified the cut a bit), and George and Basic Shapes to make all the flowers. The butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch. I added pearls to the centers of the flowers and for the butterflies bodies. My sentiment says, "April showers bring May flowers". I also embossed the umbrella and the Cloud and bent up the wings of the butterflies. Super simple card once all the cuts are cut out!

There it is! Hope this puts a little Spring in your step and have a great Hump Day everyone!

Cut It Up Challenge #15--March Lion/Lamb

Happy Friday!! Today's challenge at Cut it Up Challenges is "March comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb".  Use a lion or a lamb on your project. Must use a die cut.

Here is what I created:
I used a light blue cardstock to make this A2 card. I took some green paper and embossed it with a swirly pattern by the Paper Studio. I then cut the tree from Create a Critter 2 and embossed the tree trunk with a bark folder, also by the Paper Studio. Then I cut this cute little girl/lion from the Trick or Treat cartridge and stamped "Happy Spring" on the bottom.

Easy peasy!!

Hope you have as much fun with this challenge as I did! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look and make sure to check out the other DT creations and find out how to play along at Cut it Up Challenges!

Cut It Up Challenge #14--Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Happy Friday!! Today's challenge at Cut it Up Challenges is "Dr. Seuss-Inspired".  Dr. Seuss' birthday was March 2.  Make  something inspired by one of his books. (Use fish, cats, elephants,  etc.) Must use a die cut.

Here is what I created:
My all-time favorite book of Dr. Seuss's is "The Lorax". So I had to make this cute truffula tree card. I used blue cardstock in the A2 size and then added some torn green paper for the grass. I also embossed the grass with a flower embossing folder and inked it with a bit of green ink.
For my die-cuts, I cut the skinny tree trunks from Campin' Critters. I just modified it a bit. Originally, this cut has a bear peaking out of it and I just cut all that off so I just had the trunk. Then I took a black pen and drew the black lines on the trunk. The unless tree stump is cut from Create a Critter. Then the tops of the trees were made from wool roving I found at Hobby Lobby. They had 6 pk. of colors and I chose pink and purple and I stuck them on glubers. I tried to spiral them a little bit but I didn't want to mess with it too much and muck it up.
On the inside, I used a bit of the words from the book for the sentiment: "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. No, it's not. Thanks for caring!!

Hope you have fun as much fun with this challenge as I did! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look and make sure to check out the other DT creations and find out how to play along at Cut it Up Challenges!

My Paper Crafting Challenge #124--Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Hi everyone! It's hump day once again and it's time for a new Crafting with Cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting!

This week's challenge is:

Here is my creation:

I made this card using blue cardstock in an A2 size. I then took some green paper and ripped it across the top to make the grass. I then embossed this with one of my Cuttlebug folders. The cute little leprechaun and rainbow/pot o' gold are both cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I cut the two clouds from the Create a Critter cartridge and then embossed it with my Cuttlebug's swiss dots folder. Then I made the sentiment on my computer that says, "Lucky..." and the inside says "...to have a friend like you! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!"

Cut It Up Challenge #8--White Elegance

Hi everyone!!

It's time for another challenge at Cut It Up Challenges!! Challenge #8 is called "White Elegance". This week our challenge to you is to make an all white card with only a small touch of one other color. And as always, you must include a die-cut.

Here is my take on this challenge:
I made this A2 card by embossing it with my snowflakes folder, and my die-cut is from Cricut's "Snow Friends" cartridge. I think he is so cute. I glittered him up with star dust stickles and then for my sentiment, it says, "Some of my best friends are flakes". I then topped it off with three blue rhinestones.

Other Photos:
I got my Christmas present early(a new camera)!! I am amazed at the detailed shots I have been able to get and the colors are so much better and the details of the embossing that the camera picked up are amazing compared to my old camera!

I know exactly who I'm going to give this to for their Christmas card!! teehee!!

I Found a Mustache Let's Scrap Design Team Challenge 147

Hi everyone! I posted my Design Team challenge for Let's Scrap this past Friday and I'm really excited to see what everyone creates for this one. It's kind of, sort of a color challenge!

Your challenge is to create a layout(no cards please) with your main background paper being black and using black and white photos. You may then pick a color scheme for your embellishments. I was really thrilled with how mine turned out--the colors just pop when you have a black background and black and white photos!!

Here is my take on it: First off, this is my goofy husband. He sent me these photos of him to my phone when I was scrapping at a friend's house with the message saying, "I found a mustache!" It is a parentheses scrapbooking embellishment. Even guys like scrappy stuff!! I found these uber cute mustache brads at Hobby Lobby and Cricut cuts online! I embossed my mustaches with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder and the banner is embossed using a Tim Holtz alterations sunburst folder. I love the textures so much!! The quote just above the mustaches says, "The mustache made me do it!"
I got my color scheme from http://design-seeds.com/ I love this pretty Toucan bird! Just gorgeous!!
Here is the Let's Scrap sketch I used to make this layout:
I will be giving away a small RAK to one lucky member that participates in my challenge. Come check out the rest of the details and play along HERE.

Go now and let's see what kinds of colors you can make pop!!

My Craft Spot Challenge #73 + A Special Announcement

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday! I have been busy crafting away this weekend with my friend and my sister via Skype. lol It's not just for talking!! It's also for getting your craft on with friends!!

Today's creation is for My Craft Spot's challenge #73--Emboss it! I made this cute Halloween card using patterned papers from a Paper Studio Halloween stack and then to separate the papers, added candy corn ribbon.

The vampire trick or treater is from the Trick or Treat cartridge and is cut at 2.5" and the mat he is on is a Sizzix die that I cut and then embossed with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder. After I embossed it, I ran some Tim Holtz Black Soot ink over the embossing to give it a nice black color and inked around the edges of the mat.

Thanks My Craft Spot for another fun challenge and can't wait for the next one!

I also have a special announcement to make. I just found out that I was chosen as the November guest designer on Sketch 'n' Scrap's blog. I'm very excited to have been chosen and very excited to get started!! So look for my work there this next month! Thank you Sketch 'n' Scrap for choosing me to help provide inspiration on their blog! :D

Thank you for stopping by today!

My Craft Spot Challenge #67-Hope Is

Hi everyone!

Happy Saturday! Hope you are all getting time to relax and are crafting up a storm!

Today's card is for My Craft Spot's Challenge #67-Hope Is Rising challenge which is to make a sympathy or encouragement card. I chose to make a sympathy card.

I used the Sizzix leaves embossing folder in my Cuttlebug and then punched a border with my Martha Stewart punch.
I then stamped the sentiment, "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure" and inked red around it and matted it on red paper. I love this quote!
I then added some red roses and pearls.
On the inside I used a red and white mat again and stamped "Our hearts, our prayers, and our love are with you" in red on the inside.
 Close-up:
There you have it. I love how it turned out and I hope you do as well!

Happy Craftin'!!
